Goat Funded Trader (GFT) has announced two updates to its trading rules, reducing the minimum trade holding time.
Here are the Highlights of the article “Goat Funded Trader Minimum Holding Time & Copy Trading Updates”:
Goat Funded Trader (GFT) has announced two updates to its trading rules, reducing the minimum trade holding time for new purchases and allowing traders to copy trades between their own accounts at the firm.
The prop firm shared the updates with its trading community, describing the changes as a response to trader feedback.
The first change concerns the minimum holding time requirement. Goat Funded Trader has reduced the minimum trade holding time from two minutes to one minute. However, the firm clarified that this adjustment applies only to newly purchased accounts. Traders with existing accounts should therefore check the applicable terms before assuming the revised requirement applies to them.
The shorter holding period gives eligible traders more flexibility when managing short-duration trades. It may be particularly relevant to strategies that rely on quick market movements, although traders will still need to comply with the firm’s other trading conditions.
The second update concerns copy trading, with Goat Funded Trader relaxing its restrictions on copying trades between accounts owned by the same trader.
Under the revised rules, traders can copy trades between their own GFT accounts across different account stages. This includes copying between two funded accounts, two challenge accounts, or a challenge account and a funded account.
The change gives traders greater flexibility when managing multiple accounts within the firm’s trading environment. For example, a trader operating both a challenge account and a funded account can now copy trades between those accounts without violating the stated copy trading restriction.
However, the updated policy does not permit unrestricted copying across different traders or trading providers. Copying another trader’s trades remains prohibited. Traders are also not allowed to copy trades between their Goat Funded Trader accounts and personal broker accounts or accounts held with other proprietary trading firms.
These distinctions are important for traders who use trade replication tools to manage several accounts, as the permission applies specifically to accounts they own within GFT.
The two changes address separate aspects of the firm’s trading rules: holding time and account management. While the reduced holding period applies only to new purchases, the copy trading update establishes which account combinations traders can do.
Traders should review Goat Funded Trader’s current rules and account-specific conditions before implementing either change in their trading strategies.
