FundedNext recently had the pleasure of interviewing Jonathan, a seasoned trader with a unique approach to the financial markets. Jonathan’s trading journey began in 2015 when he borrowed $1,500 from his sister to invest in trading. However, his first experience ended in losses, leading him to step away from the market. Six years later, in 2021, Jonathan returned to trading with a fresh perspective and a commitment to learning.
“I decided to give it another shot, but this time with the right mindset. I told myself I would give it two or three years to learn properly,” Jonathan shared during the interview.
Throughout his trading journey, Jonathan explored various educational resources, including four trading courses, to refine his skills. He began with traditional technical analysis and patterns, such as trendlines and support/resistance. However, his breakthrough came when he discovered a supply and demand-based strategy, which focuses on understanding market structure, liquidity, and the flow of the market. This approach resonated with him and laid the foundation for his trading success.
Jonathan’s strategy revolves around risk management, where he risks only 1% per trade on his Profam account. He follows a strict rule: if the trade is successful, he moves forward; if not, he waits for the next opportunity. His focus is on the London and New York trading sessions, where he looks for specific confluences in market structure, liquidity, and inducements before entering a trade.
In addition to his trading endeavors, Jonathan also works as a consultant in data analytics for international organizations, including the United Nations. His analytical background, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, has led him to start his own trading education company, Aural Capital, where he shares his knowledge and experience with aspiring traders.
“I’ve learned a lot over the years, and now I want to give back by helping others learn the proper way to approach trading,” Jonathan said.
